Within the last 10 years, college attendance has increased 4 to 17% in our communities. PMMMSF’s goal is to assist as many students as possible to steadily increase this number. More disadvantaged youths have plans to attend college with little to zero funds toward this venture, adding additional financial stress essentially distracting students from concentrating on the overall experience and opportunities available. Our foundation grants high school students financial support that can eliminate the financial need for books, living expenses, and the additional variables that accompany the establishment of life after high school. Our goal is to elevate financial stress for students desiring a more successful life but lack the financial assistance to accelerate to the next step. PMMMSF has assisted many students within its short established time. One of the first recipients, Gregoire Carter Narcisse, graduated from high school at the age of 16, later obtaining a B.S. in Political Science and Sports Management. Narcisse graduated from FSU at the age of 18. As to date, he has obtained his Masters of Science degree in Education from the University of Miami.
Another one of these recipients, Enzo Nitti, was raised in a single parent household and brought to the states from Venezuela. Enzo was awarded the PMMM scholarship and is currently enrolled in college. Our scholarship enabled Enzo to purchase the necessities needed to establish himself for the next course in his life. Like our other recipients, Enzo Nitti was given an opportunity to thrive beyond high school with a ‘hand up’ in building his career. Growing up in a single parent household has its own set of challenges and financial strains. Fortunately, PMMMSF was able to catapult Enzo into a brighter future by being of financial assistance. Let’s not miss the first female recipient, Berlinger Valmeus who has graduated from Florida State University in 2017 with a degree in nursing!
