What is PMMMSF?
The Percell Marc Maynor Memorial Scholarship Foundation (PMMMSF) is an education advocate for our youth. Our foundation’s goal is to change any dismal perceptions accepted by youths; purposely focusing on the misconception of a LIMITING quality of life. Over 40% of children have experienced living significantly below poverty level. Deriving from below poverty surroundings, these youths grow to become adults with limited resources and opportunities when attempting to establish an optimum quality of life. Typically these issues lie with the absence of the proper guidance or understanding each contends with. We are determined to aid in the betterment of our youth by awarding funds to deserving students desiring to expand their life experience by attending technical school and/or college. The PMMMSF is determined to aid in the betterment of our youth by awarding funds to deserving students desiring to expand their life experience by attending technical school and/or college. The $5,000 awarded is designated towards the cost of books, living expenses, and establishing a solid future career. We believe we can accomplish this goal with the proper financial support of those funders willing to help our youth excel towards GREATNESS.
PMMMSF was initially established as a way to honor Percell Marc Maynor who tragically died in September 2010. Marc attended Chaminade-Madonna High School in Broward County Florida where he excelled in his studies as well as football. Marc’s friends and family described him as, but not limited to being, a handsome young man willing to assist whenever needed, kind hearted, and one possessing a lively spirit. Marc experienced a great deal of ups and downs in his short life, however he continued to excel to be GREAT in his accomplishments. In an effort to honor Marc’s life, academic, and athletic accomplishments, we established the PMMMSF to assist high school students achieve GREATNESS by awarding a stipend towards secondary educational training. By offering students this incentive, students have the opportunity to absorb other concepts and perceptions of the world and the steps to take in creating a successful life journey.
